Muddy Mahame

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

Number 100!! It took a total of 55 days (26 of which we actually went out caching), but we have now found 100 caches. We reached this milestone with the Dykema’s. Isaiah and Tom may have ended up a bit muddy, but things happen out on the trail :) . This momentous occasion was reached on Muddy Mahame. In celebration, we released our very first travel bug: HayleeBugg’s 100.

Marvelous Multi

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

Having given up on the area of the cemetery, we went across town to Marvelous Multi. A fairly quick find… the longest part was the walking in between points.

Death Defying

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

In the same cemetery is Death Defying. From reading the logs we knew that this one required some climbing. Despite that knowledge, we were unable to find it.

Paranormal Michigan #2 – Legends of the Hill

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

Still looking to make progress toward #100, we went on to Paranormal Michigan #2 – Legends of the Hill. We had attempted this one before, but Tom & Angie hadn’t. The second time was the charm here (or maybe it was the lack of attacking squirrels) as we made the find.

Necessary Evil

Saturday, October 25th, 2008

We had made plans to go out with the Dykema’s to get from 97 to 100 caches today. Even though it was raining, we went out anyway. Though we did leave Haylee behind being that she’s had a bit of a cold for the past couple weeks. Necessary Evil was a bit too evil for us to succeed at finding it. Guess this one didn’t help with our quest.

Cartier camo

Saturday, September 13th, 2008

Our final cache of the night was Cartier camo. We parked near where we were supposed to, though we didn’t get there the way we’re supposed to. Still not sure how to get to that parking lot the right way, but it doesn’t really matter now. This caches was supposed to have 3 trackables in it, but we could only find one in the container. The Dykemas had found it first, so it was only fair that they got to take the coin. We took a squish ball for playing in the lake and left some crayons.

Monster Tree Cache

Saturday, September 13th, 2008

The Monster Tree Cache provided a nice hike through the woods. It looks like there’s about a thousand places in the trails back there to caches. Unfortunately, our GPS stopped working about 50 feet from the cache, but the Dykemas GPSes still worked. We left nothign and took nothing.

Lazy River Cache

Saturday, September 13th, 2008

We moved on to the Lazy River Cache next. This one hadn’t been found in a month so we were little worried, but we did manage to find it. Tom crossed the river even though it wasn’t really necessary and ended up with muddy shoes. The worst part was, Jake and Angie were standing almost directly on top of the cache when it happened but didn’t realize it! The cache was a bit sparse on items, so we left a toy car and didn’t take anything.

South Victory Cemetary

Saturday, September 13th, 2008

Once we gave up on the Amber Community forest, we headed over to South Victory Cemetary. This one was an easy park and grab (we actually parked in the right place this time). We dropped off the Cannonball Coin and took a toy car.

Amber Community Forest Cache

Saturday, September 13th, 2008

After finding the if it was a snake cache, we went to the closest cache to us: Amber Community Forest Cache. Unforutnately, we didn’t have any luck at this one. Looked for about 20 minutes and didn’t find it… we did, however, find the remains of a racoon.
