540

Sunday, September 28th, 2008

Wow… 540 was very hard to find cache. Without a helpful hint, we may not have found this one. Nevertheless, we did find it.

Too Tempting!

Sunday, September 28th, 2008

We’ve tried a couple time in the past, but today we finally got Too Tempting! Even though it was a micro, we had a travel bug that would fit in it so we left behind G.T.s Traveling Tag.

Class Cache

Sunday, September 28th, 2008

On our way to Grand Haven we stopped and did Class Cache. We figured that now that school was back in session it was a good time to stop and get this cache. We took a little doll for Haylee and left behind a geocoin for the kids: A Bad Latitude.

Duck Hunt – #1 Aloha Duck

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

Right near the proud son virtual cache was a micro cache called Duck Hunt – #1 Aloha Duck. One of these days we’re going to have to learn for sure what poison ivy looks like, but there’s a good chance we saw some tonight.

Proud Son

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

As a virtual cache, the main requirement of Proud Son is taking a picture of yourself at the cache. Of course, Haylee always loves getting here picture taken so she was the perfect canidate!

TV 38

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

Tonight we just stayed in the Muskegon area… starting out at TV 38. They collect business cards there so we left one of those. Other than that, we took nothing and left nothing.

Picket Fence

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

Our final cache of the night was Picket Fence. We had tried this after church on Sunday, but didn’t have the main GPS which made it hard to close. Though it must have been accurate enough as it turns out we had our hand on it. We were having a little bit of trouble again, so we called the Dykama’s to get a hint. They gave us one and 30 seconds later, we had it. While we were looking, Haylee decided she wanted back into the van, so we let her. She also wanted some keys. When we got back in the van to go home, she had actually gotten the key halfway in the ignition!! Good thing we were smart enough to only give her keys to the car she wasn’t in and not the van :) .

Rix’s Run

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

The evening took a turn toward the not quite as nice with Rix’s Run. We found the first stage easily enough and got the coordinates for the second stage. Logic would say that we were in the right area as it seemed like a really good area to hide something, but we came up empty handed. There were some odd mighty odd trees in the area.

Cool Tools

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

Also in Rycenga park, we found Cool Tools. This we were close to it at one point in GPS land, but there was a big ravine in the way, so we had to back-track and go around. We found it relatively quickly once we overcame the ravine issue. This one also had a travel bug which we grabbed: Wistle Stop Bug. We left a toy car.Two caches and two travel bugs! What a great start to the evening.

Greg Gets Grounded

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

Started this evening in Rycenga park in Fruitport. Our first cache in this park was Greg Gets Grounded. We walked just a little bit further down the path than we needed to, but we did find it. We left the AuntieNae’s Laugh-A-Lot Care Bear Travel Bug and picked up a Poly, a TB in memory of somebody’s K-9 friend.
