Agnew Rest Area TB Campsite

Sunday, October 12th, 2008

In the same rest stop as the duck was Agnew Rest Area TB Campsite. It was a little deeper into “the bush” than most and there were no trails that went nearby it, but we found it nonetheless. We dropped off Naniloa Napa’a travel bug and picked up the Sadie girl geocoin copy (not an actual coin, just a laminated piece of paper with the coin’s number on it).

WILD HORSE VALLEY

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

Realizing that it was getting a bit late and we still had to winterize the camper, we decided to make WILD HORSE VALLEY our last stop on the way up. We found a horse travel bug named TYCHO in the cache. We thought it was a good cache to find a horse travel bug in, but it can’t travel the world while locked up in a cache so we grabbed it to move it on. We left a slinky, a toy car and some erasers.

Geomooo!

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

Geomooo! was near a store we didn’t even know existed. We found A Bad Latitude geocoin in the cache. While we had already dropped off all the trackables we had logged on the website and therefore couldn’t leave one in its place, we went ahead and took it anyway so we could move it either north or south (its goal). We left behind a toy car. Also, the cache wasn’t hidden very well when we walked up on it, so we tried to hide it better.

Back Forty TB Hotel

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

We were a little suprised how far off the road the Back Forty TB Hotel was off the road. While it was a busy road to leave the van on the side of, we did. We jogged most of the way to the cache. Happily the TB Hotel had a couple travel bugs in it: White Jeep Travel Bug “Ardella” and Naniloa Napa’a. Wow, an actual Jeep TB in the wild. We’d heard about them but hadn’t actually seen one! The other travel bug had a goal to visit all the Hawiian islands. Unfortunately, we can’t help that TB get there, but we’ll drop it off somewhere and hopefully somebody else can get it there. We left behind Benny Cat.

McSilly

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

Just before lunch we stopped at McSilly. We were considering eating at the “Mc” nearby the cache but they seemed quite busy so we passed. We found another travel bug at this one: G.T.s Traveling Tag. Oddly enough, just like the one at the library, this one had nothing attached to it… just the tag floating around. We left a beaded necklace.

WL Library Stumper

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

WL Library Stumper was a new one in the Whitehall area that was placed yesterday. We couldn’t run right out and do it yesterday as we were both working and had other things we needed to get done in the evening. But we did find it on day two of its existance :) . We took the Travel Bug #1 (the first TB we’ve ever found without an attachment) and left behind a bottle opener as none of our travel bugs would fit in the container. We couldn’t have missed another cacher by much according to our log time and his…

Sand & Roses

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

From the lighthouse, we went to Sand & Roses. A fairly easy park and grab. We traded travel bugs… left behind Poly and picked up Benny Cat.

BEST OF BRITISH LUCK TO YOU

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

Our last stop for the evening was BEST OF BRITISH LUCK TO YOU. A lot of long grass and it was getting late, so for simplicity, we left Lilly in the van. A farily quick find. We found a trackable, though not one that can be tracked at geocaching.com. This MAGC – Military Association of Geocachers (Red Logo) coin is trackable at pathtags.com. Thusfar it seems that it’s just easier when things are tracked at geocaching.com, but maybe PathTags has some neat features.

Cool Tools

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

Also in Rycenga park, we found Cool Tools. This we were close to it at one point in GPS land, but there was a big ravine in the way, so we had to back-track and go around. We found it relatively quickly once we overcame the ravine issue. This one also had a travel bug which we grabbed: Wistle Stop Bug. We left a toy car.Two caches and two travel bugs! What a great start to the evening.

Greg Gets Grounded

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

Started this evening in Rycenga park in Fruitport. Our first cache in this park was Greg Gets Grounded. We walked just a little bit further down the path than we needed to, but we did find it. We left the AuntieNae’s Laugh-A-Lot Care Bear Travel Bug and picked up a Poly, a TB in memory of somebody’s K-9 friend.
