Stop and take a drink

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

Our final cache of the day was Stop and take a drink. Even though this cache was a micro, we did find it! On a whim, we checked to see if one of the tag only travel bugs would fit in it, and it did… so we left Travel Bug #1. Not too many micros actually have travel bugs :) .

Suttons Landing

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

We had tried Suttons Landing once before without any luck, though we had a couple people in the van waiting for us so we didn’t want to spend too long looking for it. We tried again tonight on the way home, but it was getting dark and it was hard to see anything with just the light from the flashlights we had. We’ll have to give it a shot next summer if it’s still around.

To A Degree

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

On our way home, we stopped at To A Degree. We were hoping to get the first ones to find it after the Dykema’s, but no such luck… somebody found it in between us. On our way out, we decided that maybe we should log some of the travel bugs we had gathered on our journey so if we wanted to deposit any on the way home we could.

Tram Law Ludington

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

As we were in route to Tram Law Ludington we read its description but didn’t really understand it. Unlike most other caches, once we found it, we still didn’t understand it. On the upside, we were the second ones to find this cache since it was placed yesterday :) .

WILD HORSE VALLEY

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

Realizing that it was getting a bit late and we still had to winterize the camper, we decided to make WILD HORSE VALLEY our last stop on the way up. We found a horse travel bug named TYCHO in the cache. We thought it was a good cache to find a horse travel bug in, but it can’t travel the world while locked up in a cache so we grabbed it to move it on. We left a slinky, a toy car and some erasers.

GOBBLERS CROSSING

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

GOBBLERS CROSSING is another bike trail cache. We’ve found out there’s different line (Blue Line, Green Line, etc) in the series. We once again collected the clue.

Geomooo!

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

Geomooo! was near a store we didn’t even know existed. We found A Bad Latitude geocoin in the cache. While we had already dropped off all the trackables we had logged on the website and therefore couldn’t leave one in its place, we went ahead and took it anyway so we could move it either north or south (its goal). We left behind a toy car. Also, the cache wasn’t hidden very well when we walked up on it, so we tried to hide it better.

FLEA TOWN

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

FLEA TOWN was another cache from the bike trail series. Again, we collected the clue, though we don’t know when we’ll be able to take advantage of that clue.

Bone Yard

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

We then went on to do another cemetery cache… this one called Bone Yard. The coordinates seemed to want to take us a lot deeper into the woods than we had to go, but something looked suspicious on the way. When we checked it out, sure enough, there was the cache.

Back Forty TB Hotel

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

We were a little suprised how far off the road the Back Forty TB Hotel was off the road. While it was a busy road to leave the van on the side of, we did. We jogged most of the way to the cache. Happily the TB Hotel had a couple travel bugs in it: White Jeep Travel Bug “Ardella” and Naniloa Napa’a. Wow, an actual Jeep TB in the wild. We’d heard about them but hadn’t actually seen one! The other travel bug had a goal to visit all the Hawiian islands. Unfortunately, we can’t help that TB get there, but we’ll drop it off somewhere and hopefully somebody else can get it there. We left behind Benny Cat.
