Our final stop for the night before dinner was can you pick up the 7-10 split. Happily, we were able to! We tend not be be good at urban micros, but we got this one!
In the same park, we found Stix 2 Fire House. When we found it, it was just sitting out in the open so we hid it a little better. The most disappointing thing about this one was that online it said there were two travel bugs. When we got there, we saw that somebody had taken them both while leaving nothing behind in exchange on the 9th! Very disappointing.
Our first attempt to find R.I.P. Jerry was going to take us through somebody’s yard. Even though we were withing 60 feet or so from it, we decided to go around and find a better place to park. We found McGraft park and left the car there. A decent hike later and we were in the right spot (60 feet from where we were earlier). We took nothing and left a blue slinky.
After our FTF, we went to check out If We weren’t all Crazy We’d all go Insane. We looked for a little bit, but this was a micro cache in an urban area… not exactly our strong suit.
We had a doctor appointment to go to today and while we were in the waiting room, we got an email that said there was a new cache not too far down the road from the doctor’s office. So, once we finished with the appointment, we downloaded the cache information and put the coordinates for “Lakeside against the world” into the GPS. As we zeroed in on the location where we thought it was, somebody walked out of the store and looked where we were guessing it was. Once he left, we drove over that way and saw that the GPS still said we were about 60 feet away. We stopped again and took a quick peek there, but didn’t see it. Not wanting to poke around in the wrong area, especially in full view of the people in the shop, we drove around the block. We followed the GPS right back to the same spot, so took a closer look. It was, in fact, there! The first to find prize (our very first FTF) was a $10 gift certificate to the store… so we went in to check it out. It was a quite nice store. We spent our gift certificate plus a little more. By the time we got home to log it on geocaching.com we saw a story from another person who was trying to be the first to find it… good thing we went when we did
