Though it was too long to complete in one night we did start doing Exploring Coast Guard City USA tonight. We managed to check all of the points in row “A”. Though with 24 points total, that still leaves 19 points as possibilities (though not all of them necessarily need to be visited…). It’d be nice if each of the points were their own virtual cache or something so they were logged seperately (and loaded into the GPS easier), but this is still a fun little puzzle.

From the lighthouse, we went to Sand & Roses. A fairly easy park and grab. We traded travel bugs… left behind Poly and picked up Benny Cat.

Once we got Haylee situated, we headed over to the Grand Haven Lighthouse. A lot of traffic driving by, but we did manage to find the cache with as much stealth as could be managed while in the open (without pulling out the camo and looking really out of place
. We took nothing and dropped off the Wistle Stop Bug.

Once we completed the Spring into Summer series, we went back out to Vantage Point. Unlike last time, this time we took the serivce road all the way to the top and walked straight to where the dummy cache was. The cache owner had made a comment that if you found the dummy cache, you were within three feet of the real deal. So, of course, we focused our search withing three feet of that point. Didn’t find anything, though we did have to cut our search short due to a potty training child.

When we were camping last weekend and went out with ourfamluvscaching, we mentioned our inability to find the points in the Spring into Summer series and how a lot of the points seemed to end up at light poles. They gave us a couple hints about the way micros are hidden at light poles. Fast forward to today… on our way out to cache this evening we stopped at Target to get a compas (you know, the old manual type). While there, we decided to check and see if the micro hints were still there even though the owner disabled them. Sure enough, they were there and the hint given by ourfamluvscaching was a good one! So, tonight we found BullsEye, McHales Navy, A million reasons, Yo Quiero!, “City” Slickers and, of course the main event: Spring into Summer Series Final.

Take two of the Spring into Summer Series.
Not surprisingly, “City” Slickers was the same deal.

Take two of the Spring into Summer Series.
Now that we know what a “skirt lifter” is, BullsEye went much better.
