On our way home for the evening, we made a quick stop at Sweet Lou. Even though it was getting dark and this was just a micro cache, we did manage to find it!
Once we gave up on the summer series, we headed on to the nearby Old Glory cache. After almost stepping on the box once and still missing it, we did find it pretty quickly. We took AuntieNae’s Laugh-A-Lot Care Bear Travel Bug and left behind a 300th Military Police Brigade ACU patch.
Tonight we decided to give the Spring into Summer Series a shot. It didn’t go quite as well as we’d hoped. There were 9 points that gave hints to the location of the final cache. One of them was disabled as it is missing. Of the other 8, we only managed to find three of them… and only two had clues! And the two that had clues were pretty obvious once you started looking at the listing in the final cache.
We attempted the following caches:
We didn’t even try Save Big $ as it was marked by the cache owner as not being there.
That left us, even using basic deduction, unable to get a good idea about where the cache may be. A bit of a bummer as we were really hoping to get the series.
PS. This one is in neither the Found nor DNF categories because We didn’t attempt the finale.
UPDATE: Found this one on 21-Sep-2008.

We got close to the coordinates for Caddy Shack and saw a light pole. Figured there was no way we were gonna find this one. But we did find a cleaverly hidden log book. Unfortunately, there was no clue. It made us think about a couple that we missed previously so we went back to take a look at them. No better luck in that department.

Finally!! Another find! Though No Outlet #5 had no light poles anywhere around.

The coordinates for “City” Slickers seemed to put us right in the middle of a parking lot once again near a light pole. Noticing a theme, yet? Still didn’t find anything.

The coordinates for Yo Quiero! were also near a light pole, but also near a fence. Not that that helped any, we couldn’t find it.

On to McHales Navy. Once again, we were near a light pole… but this time, we were also in a little island. Still didn’t find any clues.

Our second visit was to BullsEye. The coordinates pointed us to the middle of the parking lot. It seemed to be right near a light pole, but we didn’t find any clues on or around it.
